The Pope visits the United States this week but don't be fooled into thinking President Bush shares a spirituality with the Pontiff.

Excellent comment and you're absolutely correct that both Bush and the reigning Pope both have used morality to excuse their iniquitious ways, Anonymous.
However, I believe you missed my point of contention in the Column I wrote which drew comparisions between Bush's unethical behavior and his advocacy for enabling nuclear weapons as a deterrent. This is the REAL terrorism.
The Pope's predecessor John Paul, was a true man of peace and envisioned a world in which the poor, disabled and hungry be given priorty over corporate greed. Global businesses would be required to dedicate their profits to the welfare of them before their shareholders. Furthermore, the UN would monitor CEO's behavior and outrageous violations brought before the world court.
Cafeteria Christians want to pick and choose what Scripture applies while ignoring the rest. Bush is a perfect example of this as is Pope Benedict for ignoring Catholic pedophilia.

I'd say they're a lot more alike than you think.
After all ratzi the nazi did do everything he could to cover up the pedophilia that still continues.
So you see they're both scumbags in their own right.
