Terrific work. I like how the insidiousness of the term "compromise" is revealed. Another term that belongs right up there next to it is "bipartisan."

Another excellent, although non-funny, video animation can be found here - http://www.isil.org/resources/introduction.swf

The arbitrary usurpations of

The arbitrary usurpations of power that disregard the Constitution, Congressional legislation, and long standing treaties, have become common place as Dear Decider tests the bounds of the Unitary Executive Presidency.

And thanx to Snuggles, and the other warm, fuzzy, D.I.N.O.s who violated their oaths of office, only to bend to A.I.P.A.C.'s will. George Dubya BuSh will declare Martial Law in the US after Israel's False Flag Attack "draws" the US into an invasion that could easily turn into a nuclear conflagration w/ Russia, China, Pakistan, & India as participants.

Until then, Bu$h will continue to sabre rattle w/ Iran to keep the speculators wigged-out & the price of crude @ astronomical levels.
And of course he will continue to grease the skids for the multinational BigOil monopolies in Iraq, in his 3rd term.
PAX AMERICANA, P.N.A.C. style.

This is just brillant

This is just brillant !!!!!!!! Don't these politicans get it? They are supposed to be stewards of something greater than themselves - the Republic. We all know that contemporary politics means one side might profit instead of another, but the foundation of the system, aka civil liberties, are not to be disturbed. Jefferson, Madison, and Franklin have to be rolling over in their graves. The rights of the people are being infringed by an overbearing executive and the people better wake up.

As for Obama - he is just another politician. He is no different than Hillary Clinton or John McCain. His voting record on the war is identical. He may not have voted for the war but there was no profile in courage OR a "Goldwater Moment" on his part to help get the democrats on the right path.

Great piece, Mark. Others

Great piece, Mark. Others will appreciate you criticizing all candidates in this race on this issue. Obama doesn't get it. It's like the great Molly Ivins from my state always said, "You have to dance with the ones that brung you."

Obama has now commenced "Operation Dukakis" and has shifted many of his positions to the middle, but none worse than FISA, when he needs to keep the progressive activists that he promised he would vote nay on any bill that included retroactive immunity, happy, excited, and active. Yet now he has brought so many that are new to the political process in, just to dump them off after being nominated as he runs an inept centrist campaign posturing and triangulating on many issues in the past couple of weeks. He refused to back up Wes Clark(Former Commander of NATO forces) who has more relevant experience to commander in chief than McCain and what Clark said was true. But like normal, Democrats are going to let the Republicans control the debate and have supreme authority on all military issues. It's pretty sad.

Unless we take a left turn at "Progressive Avenue," we will follow "Operation Dukakis" till we hit the initial dead end.

My gas tank is running low on the hope department, lately, but hopefully we can pick up a no excuses majority and kick some of the corporate Dems out of Congress. That seems to be one of the few I have left.

Thanks for informing all of us in such an entertaining way.

pelosi is a bush enabler.

pelosi is a bush enabler. she is a horrible example for women! this woman makes the word compromise a negative word. obama moving to the right....we are dealing with neo con democrats. anyone thinking we are getting rid of neo con republicans, think again....get ready for the neo con blue dog democrats!

We've been letting this go

We've been letting this go on for WAY too long, it's true. But why focus on Obama? You're not going to tell me that McCain is fighting these erosions of the Constitution and Bill of Rights?

AGILQUEST Corporation does the same thing, it spies on specific people in their workplaces using technology.

Ah, it's sad to watch

Ah, it's sad to watch cartoonists' little hearts break as they realize that there's no such thing as an electable candidate in a two-party system. Kind of like Limbaugh with John McCain (although Limbaugh has an extra $400M to help him cry himself to sleep).

And still, we behold another witty satire featuring the adorable Snuggly (wasn't he in commercials for some laundry detergent?) where a belief in constitutional ideals still rears its ugly head. Could Mr. Fiore possibly be clinging to hope? Hope that his visitors will remember Snuggly as they tune into '24':

"Damn it, Chloe! I need that code. Now."
"Can't, Jack. Roberto DeSnoote is still stonewalling us, and we need at least another six hours to get that FISA warrant through."

at which point most Americans would sell their firstborn to the NSA just to see Roberto DeSnoote get his.

Hey, do you suppose Snuggly was Jack's teddybear when he was a kid?

One of these days, I'm looking forward to meeting Snuggly's friend 'Snuckles', who loves Americans so much, he's willing to torture them to protect their laws and democracy.

Snuggly, I'll only donate

Snuggly, I'll only donate one red penny to the Barack Obama campaign now.

With Obama supporting the FISA Amendments Act and faith-based initiatives, that penny is the only change I believe in any more.

Cliff, the act only prevents

Cliff, the act only prevents Civil Suits; it does nothing to prevent Criminal Prosecution....
They can still thrown the b*****ds in jail for breaking the law.

A properly argued Civil suit

A properly argued Civil suit fueled by the President's admission that the wiretapping took place illegally would uphold the rule of law and serve as a starting point for further "cleanup".

The "compromise" actually quite brilliant. With fedral criminal prosecutions taking place at the whim of a stacked DoJ, the result will be the same - no viable lawsuit.

Business as^H^H better than usual.
