We stopped eating beef after years of not Knowing and feel better then ever. Lost more weight then going to the gym or diets. No sleepy feeling after eating and lots more energy. Body is still excreting by products from the processed foods. If it is not pure or 100 percent then we don`t buy it. Worth the extra expense , doctors visits way down....
I'm a vegetarian. I was born into it. It's a very easy thing to be for me. Plus it's healthy.
Michael Pollan's book The Omniovere's Dilemma will cure anyone from eating beef.
most books about beef that have their facts strait do tend to make people stop eating it.
cook it well then microwave it microwaves kill all
it's still healthier not to eat beef.
Why eat something you have to kill? If there is any worry that there may be something that needs killing bia the microwave then leave it alone.
And people wonder why I'm a vegan!
Thanks for the excellent clip!
I'm a vegetarian. It's not as strict as being a vegan. I do eat things like milk, eggs, and cheese. But I don't eat any type of meat or poultry. I have eaten shrimp once or twice but i don't like it too much so i could easily stop.
Shrimp are close to insects. Lobster are just big cockroaches. Crabs are spiders. Clams and oysters are snails. I've given these up even though they taste pretty good.
Well, maybe not clams and oysters. When they're deep-fried you can't tell what they are. I'd love to be a vegetarian but I'm allergic to cheese and legumes. Bread and cheese makes me fat and a steak gives me nightmares.
Salt blows me up and raises my blood pressure. My (non-diabetic) blood gets a sugar boost from cereals. Milk gives me gas and worse.
Diet cola gives me a headache.
Compliments to Shel Silverstein ("The Food Blues").
Here have some single malt. The Caburnet Savignon is especially good right now. No beer please, too gassy.
the only animals that I eat are shrimp and I've all but stopped eating them.
Right on point as always, Mark. Amazing how you come up with such pieces on a very timely basis.

doesn't bother me one bit. when are you going to do a cartoon on the slaughter houses known as abortion clinics?
member of PETA...person enjoying tasty animals
Abortion is so different from slaughtering cows on sooo many levels. First of all, it isn't even known weather or not a fetus is actually conscious at such an early stage. It isn't known if it's brain has even started to work fully enough for it to feel anything or think very much.
Slaughtering animals however, is different. We know that cows can feel pain. Their brains work normally when they are killed. They feel it. What's more, the life that they lived before being killed was most likely living in a tightly packed farm, like Doreen.
I don't know how people can look at a slaughter house where animals are constantly mistreated and, in the end, killed and say "Oh sure, that's fine. Just keep doing what your doing". Then when they hear that some mothers are being given the right to remove their tiny, barely alive fetus (which for all we know doesn't even think yet) and decide that mothers shouldn't have this right. That it would be obscene if they did.
Give me a break!
I believe a human life is more valuable than a cow. If you watch "The Silent Scream" you will learn that the baby fetus does feel pain to a great extent. If your limbs where sucked off your body you would also feel pain no different than that which the baby feels. The nervous system developes at a very early stage. Please get a copy of "the Silent Scream" which shows a baby being ripped apart...in agony.
I am glad your Mother did not abort you.
What does abortion have to do with this??????????
That would make you speciesist.
Just a little FYI: There are between one million and 1.5 million abortions in the U.S. every year. That many animals die EVERY HOUR in the U.S. so folks like you can eat your E. coli burgers and Campylobacter Chicken special (the vast majority of the 10 billion animals slaughtered for food in the U.S. every year are chickens). How can you be pro-life and eat DEAD animals.
"The Silent Scream" is not only so 1980s, but it's also propagandist lies. And this is about the SAFETY (or lack thereof) of the dead animals you eat, not the actual murder of animals.
because im sure that it doesn't hurt at all to have your body dismantled upon an assembly line.
Killing babies is the same as killing animals, genius.

Hey, Anonymous, if you like to eat downer cows, how about some fried foetus. Meat is meat.
Abortion is a form of population control, which we are in dire need of. Ironic that those who oppose abortion, usually favor war and the death penalty.
I don't favor war or the death penalty, but to control the population maybe it would be helpful if you killed yourself...meat is meat? you are a moron to the tenth degree!
"Ironic that those who oppose abortion, usually favor war and the death penalty."
you seem to have a taste for chemically injected, sick, depressed, and mistreated animals. sad.
PETA? more like: PECIEIA (Person Eating Chemically Injected E-coli Infected Animals)
If you must eat meat, eat free range. It's better for the animals and better for you.
That is wonderful for you. He'll probably do one like that when he gets around to thinking exactly like you. About the same time you get around to thinking exactly like him.
Mark, you always manage to hit the nail right on the head! And you do it so unerringly and cleverly.
I love all your work, but Doreen the Downer is one of your best. You should link this one up with www.earthsave.org and www.organicconsumers.org. I think all kids should get a tour of a slaughterhouse before they reach puberty. I bet half at least would become instant vegetarians.
I wish I could stop them from sending these to schools.
A lot of parents don't have time to make lunches. Sad.......
it is sad.
My family and I quit eating non-organic, grain feed beef in the states because of this stuff. The only problem is, poultry is not any better.
What was telling for me was when the beef lobbyists went after Ophra for voicing her opinions. This was a few years back. That mess made it crystal clear that the the industry is corrupt.
I have no idea what will turn it around.
I guess there is a movie in it for Michael Moore.
"My family and I quit eating non-organic, grain feed beef in the states because of this stuff."
Good for you my friend. Good for you. :)
So gross, so sad, so funny, so true.
Great job Mark :)
