It's a funny way to point out a scary reality. And what about the little guy, huh? Can he/she resort to free legal advice (at least for starters) or does he/she have to dish out thousands of dollars for a lawyer to fight for his/her rights? Maybe if there were groups of people - organizations actually - who would file a lawsuit against the phone companies . . . at least for starters.

Snuggly is I think your best character. This cartoon was wicked funny. You should do a cartoon on China's domestic Spy program. You could use a Panda Bear :) Google, Sysco, Yahoo, and all those other jerks are ridiculous. They should be prosecuted for the Human Rights violations they partake in.

Hey, Clinton fits right in. She proposed a national ID card years ago.

She voted for the Patriot Act, which allows these things to go on.

And she was absent during the most recent FISA vote, effectively granting her approval.

Candidate of change? Yeah, all in the wrong direction.

Customs can open letters and packages to or from foreign destinations. Why should international telephone calls automatically be exempted from these rules? What do you say in your international phone calls that you're so worried about? I know that no one would want want to listen in on mine, and I wouldn't care if they did.

As for the habeas corpus comment - the question here is where the line should be drawn between constitutional rights of ordinary criminals and enemy combatants. No on thinks that soldiers on a battlefield should be bound by Miranda, rules of evidence and civil procedure, etc... But where do you draw the line?

Instead of fighting about this, maybe people should pay more attention to important freedoms, like the freedom to travel; to own and enjoy property (buy and sell it freely, develop it, etc); to freely practice religion; to speak freely, etc.
