Could not have said it

Could not have said it better myself....

In part because of the

In part because of the simplicity of its message of how vile have been the police states, monarchies, and theocracies the US's rulers (and previously Britain's) have set up in the Middle East, I would judge this as one of Mark Fiore's better efforts.

Of course, perhaps because of that simplicity, there's no mention in it of the fact that the current "turmoil" was precipitated acutely by a strikek of 40,000 textile workers in Mahalla, Egypt, that was put down brutally by Mubarak. There is in the cartoon mention of the role of the working class in Egypt, or of the repression and physical liquidation of a vibrant leftist / communist movement in the Middle East, generally, by the proxies of the US and Britain, leaving as the only opposition to the US-installed tyrants there the misogynist, homophobic, sadistic, insanely puritanical Abrhamic religious fanatics, such as Khomeni in Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.

This was a very difficult

This was a very difficult cartoon to finish since I was glued to Al Jazeera's live coverage of Egypt. Today's events forced some changes in the cartoon as well. Finally had to turn everything off and crank out the rest of the toon.

Even when your distracted the cartoons are G R E A T (most of the time). Kudos to this one about Autocrat Action Figures.

Oh, yeah, I was watching CNN

Oh, yeah, I was watching CNN live with the thugs throwing firebombs on the crowd as something in the front of this building caught fire. It was almost hypnotic, amazing to know it was real time. Then I saw the same footage later and no mention that it was the thugs throwing the firebombs on the unarmed crowd! Anybody remember or see the live news during Viet Nam? It was the evening news uncut, live as it happened blood, bombs and all.
That was real news, not the watered down, sanitized crap the major stations dish out today.
keep up the good work, Mark.
Maybe We should take a tip from the Egyptians and get loud and belligerent too!
