Mark We all got fooled by

Mark We all got fooled by the hope and change rhetoric. Barak Obama is cousins with Bush AND Cheney.. did we really expect anything that different??? and out of desperation the country will vote for some right wing nut in 2012 because of the Epic failure that Obama has been.......

I agree that President Obama

I agree that President Obama has been a failure.

President Obama may be a great scholar and teacher. But, I doubt that he is a good chess player. And we know that he is not an adroit "Prince", which was the term Machiavelli used for the leader of an organized crime enterprise (a. k. a. government).

I think that President Obama may be like LBJ in that he will not be able to run for re-election in 2012.

There you go lying again...

There you go lying again... you never thought in the first place.

hmm, me think Fiore has left

hmm, me think Fiore has left journalism behind in this one.

.... maybe I'm not informed, though I try to keep up. Sure Gitmo is still open, but are there any new allegations of torture? ... Is there even any evidence that "Knuckles" (or anyone formerly accused of torture) is still running these detainment facilities?

Maybe I'm wrong. If so, thanks for bringing attention to it.

If I'm not wrong, I think this one is misleading and a little over the top.

It appears that you are

It appears that you are mistaken. Please Google: "bagram torture obama".

uh, okay. I googled "bagram

uh, okay. I googled "bagram torture obama". The first result was your comment on this blog. The second result was Nov. 29th Daily Kos article with some alleged ugly treatment of teenage detainees from the battle field (punched, slapped, and made to look at pornography). The third was a Jan. 2010 Huffington Post article that was largely (though not entirely) a rehash of the teenage battlefield boys story.

Regarding teenage battlefield boys, the articles above don't provide a lot evidence to convince me that the Obama Administration is actively pursuing or tolerating the use of torture. Indeed, the most damning thing about the allegations seems to be that the Military (and Administration) won't open their secret prison to the light of day. ... But that is a long way off from claiming torture. (And teenage soldiers aren't high on my list of believable characters without corroboration.)

Maybe if you have something more, you could just paste the link? It might be easier than me trying to recreate your google search.

Maybe the Bushification of

Maybe the Bushification of Obama is due to what happens to leaders when they become president and as such, become privy to information that they did not have as presidential candidates. It may be that in this world, they find out that these hard lines are the only ones they can draw. Obama is trying to dry a soft line re BP, but even outsiders say this is not working. It seems that males only answer to the whip, anything less is laughed at.

politics change

politics change nothing...people do and we suck

You got this one right.

You got this one right. Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.
But, then, John McCain would have been no better. It always turns out it matters little who is elected. Why is that?

It seems when the government gets to decide the limits of its power it decides there are not any.

I feel your pain! A lot of

I feel your pain! A lot of us are disappointed in Obama's apparent lack of leadership recently. But let's remember the good stuff and let's give him some advice, not just criticism -- he needs all the support he can get. Or would you rather have Sarah Palin to play with? (I'm afraid of the answer! Yes she would be a lot of fun for you guys, not so much for the rest of the world though.)

very disappointing- who can

very disappointing- who can we nominate for president now ?

Yay! Thanks for the return

Yay! Thanks for the return of Knuckles! (However, when one thinks about what torture is really about, one would wish Knuckles to be definitely out of job!)

I disagree as do many of my

I disagree as do many of my friends with your assessment of President Barack Obama. It is amazing how everyone is quick to criticize but I would sure like to see you or anyone else solve all the problems he has had to face in such a short time. It is very easy to say he is not doing this or he should have done that but if you were in his shoes, how would you tackle the things that he has had to face? We are privileged to have such a great man in Office during such difficult times. Let's quit the bashing and try to offer support - negativity gets us nowhere but support for our leader would certainly be a big help during these trying times. Anyone can make fun of people during rough times but it takes a great person to hang in there and offer sincere support or even possible solutions to a tough situation. Let's hang together otherwise we will hang separately!

There is way too much

There is way too much Obama-bashing. Its nonstop, and even from Dems and liberals...even though he is still a good president. These issues of detainees in secret prisons is discouraging. I think Obama thought he could actually talk to Republicans. He assumed they were reasonable. I don't think he was prepared for how fundamentally corrupt and two-faced the Republicans are. Also, once the genie is out of the bottle, there's no putting it back in. I'm talking of ever-expanding presidential powers. But the Dems and Obama deserve our support because the other party being in power is unthinkable. People should stop bitching and moaning that things aren't perfect.

Leave Obama

Leave Obama alooooooooooooooone!

So, does this mean that

So, does this mean that people are finally waking up to the fact that bi-partisan “good cop, bad cop” theater is a smokescreen for what is really going on behind the curtain? They’re all part of the same team, people. Wake up. International business funds candidates, who make policy that protects intl. business. And they all want to keep people afraid, controlled, subjugated. DUH.

I wouldn't go that far, but

I wouldn't go that far, but he has been a HUGE disappointment with the whole "indefinite detention" US Constitution thing. Very Bushian when it comes to domestic spying and Bagram prisons.

As i stated. You are lying

As i stated.

You are lying to yourself at best.

Then i think that you are

Then i think that you are lying to yourself.

Yup. Obama is bush in all

Yup. Obama is bush in all but spelling.

I agree 100%. It's very

I agree 100%. It's very sad. But we are to blame. We voted for someone who we really didn't know and who had no leadership experience to speak of--we just liked to watch him talk. He still does that well, for all he good it does us...

Knuckles is back! Bashing

Knuckles is back! Bashing heads, for Change! What do you think, has Obama out-Bushed Bush on this one?

I was surprised when Obama

I was surprised when Obama reneged on his FISA/Telecom Immunity vote. It also began my cynicism of his actual beliefs. So, once I heard his "looking forward" BS, I knew that no executive powers grabbed by Bush/Cheney would be retracted.
