that guy in the dark rules

that guy in the dark rules this cartoon with an iron fist. make an episode of him @ bohemian grove, then you'll really be animating truthiness to power. rock on.

Everybody loves Mr Dan just

Everybody loves Mr Dan just like Dogboy does. I bet Mr Dan T-shirts would be a great seller.

And the people with money

And the people with money have even bought themselves a political movement:

Great stuff. Meg dug herself in by insulting Fresno. Kick 'em when they're down and piss 'em off. Way to go Ms. PayPal. You can't spend your way out of that:)

It's all about ... The Money Party

"Upisdownism" pretty well

"Upisdownism" pretty well describes the current situation.

That Percival Q. Swillerman that R.G. recommended in De-Elitification is starting to look pretty good, no? ;)

And... doth I detect a hint of pro-de-Elitification in Mr. Fiore's latest harangue?

My guess at favourite scene: the "fat cat in the dark" scene. A quick select-all, fill-black on the fat cat model, followed by a couple hours getting to play around with a vocoder. What's not to like?

COTO, I always love your

COTO, I always love your thoughtful comments, even though I'm on the udder side of the fence from you on most of issues. (Or all?:-)

Nice recall with ol' Percival Q!

Favorite scene to create was not the dark/informant scene, although the voice was fun. The shot with the corporate Pinocchio was more fun. I thought about doing more of a full-up Pinocchio spoof, but just couldn't bring myself to abuse that great cartoon more than I already did. I've got great memories of studying Disney books as a kid, being amazed at those carved wooden posts, walls and cottage backgrounds. (Sheesh, I sound like Thomas Kinkade!)

BTW, I'll be emerging from behind the curtain a little more, possibly even blogging about something besides Steve Jobs and my NewsToons app, fer #@%! sake!

Yours in cartoons,

I like his reasoning on most

I like his reasoning on most issues too, even though I ussually sit on the same side of the fence as you do.

The only area where I can't understand him is his anti-gay rights stance... but I usually just chock it up to his lack of experience in associating with those who have a different sexuality.

Otherwise, pretty smart guy.

Hey, if two gay individuals

Hey, if two gay individuals want to visit each other at their deathbed, or get a tax credit for living together, I have no problem at all with extending these benefits to a state-sanctioned civil union.

My specific anti-Fioreisms are:

  1. Not calling gay civil unions "marriage".
  2. Not wanting to divest myself of my right to publicly declare that homosexuality is immoral.
  3. Believing in the power of democracy over judicial oligarchy, despite the known shortcomings of the democratic process.

As far as "not associating with those of another sexuality", that's notably impossible to do in Toronto.

I associate with people that have drug problems, are abusive, are on-again-off-again criminals, are tax cheats. They're no more and no less human than I am. That still doesn't mean I have to condone what they do. And if ever society labels me as a hatemonger for condemning what they do, then a hatemonger be I.

Anyway, thanks for the compliment.

Too bad there isn't another fiore.com regular with a saber rat as an avatar. Then we'd make the perfect "Ice Age" trio. ;)

There are a lot of them. ;)

Although your "two and a half blocks away" argument kept me on side in the Cordoba House issue. And if Susie Newsykins was real I agree with you that she would probably be the 24-hour news cycle.

Who could forget ol' Percival! The bowling, hunting, beer-drinking, shot-swallowing, nut-cutting, steel-making, arm-wrestling maaaan of the people. I would've voted for him.

Kleptocracy takes America at

Kleptocracy takes America at gunpoint. Privatize profits and socialize losses. That is how the financial industry works.
It's called economic stimulus. Buying votes is the only American industry left.
PS. This is supposed to be a constitutional republic, not a democracy.
BTW, was that John Kerry's yacht floating on that sea of money?

I like to call it United

I like to call it United Corporations of America
