Who did the impression of Obama for this piece? He's friggin' brilliant! The best I've heard. And he's hardly even exagerating. Is there more of his work out there?
Did I hear/see you right, Mark——you put Medicare in the "driving up the deficit" column? If so, this is the first time I didn't say Right On, Mark! Medicare isn't the problem; Medicare is wonderful. It's the wars, Dear Mark, the budget for the war machine, and the fact that Obama has forgotten his promise to raise taxes on those making more than $200,000 pr year. (among other betrayals)
Anyway, I don't listen to him anymore. It's all rhetoric, all phony -------.
Medicare may be wonderful, but its cost is not. Neither is the fact that both its cost per citizen and gross cost will be skyrocketing as the Baby Boomers use more and more of it. So yes, it's driving up the deficit, and will do more of it in the coming years. But will the Disloyal Opposition ever even entertain the concept to raising taxes, or cutting the "infinite war on terror", or giving up the next-gen-and-completely-pointless war machines in an era where the enemy doesn't come out to fight, to pay for the cost of Medicare? Oh no, they're too busy trying to out-butch each other in a race to see how unworthy to govern they can make themselves.
Continuing the wars is bad; abandoning them in midstream is worse. And by the way, those taxes ARE going up, when the irrational tax cuts expire.
I also think you got it right, Mark. I also encourage you to send it to the President. Maybe he'll get the message and his laughter will disarm him enough for the message to sink in and be acted upon.
Thanks.
Doug
I am not a fan of the Bush and Cheney cabal, but I can not help but feel like you're being a hypocite when you bashed Bush (and rightly so) but you treat Obama with kid gloves.... please explain....
I'd like to see Obama fullfill all his broken campaign promises, fire all of the crooked people in his administration, stop carrying out the war mongering foreign policies of the Bush administration and address real issues. He has been such a colassal dissapointment. I can't believe that we all voted for him. I feel like I been bamboozled. :-(
I think he kind of said that last night...just not as funny. Except the part about promising not to be a wuss. That he didn't say...but probably did need to say.
You're right, I almost forgot-- Obama is voiced by amazing talent, Ray Lin! I need to start having credits at the beginning or end acknowledging the voice talent. (Generally John Taylor, Ray Lin or my friend Samantha Schoech lately.)
I'm used to just having my name at the end since it's been a one-man show for so many years, fortunately, that's changing.
Be careful, don't want Barack Obama rubbing off on you. However, by publicizing who does your voice over work you will lose them to some bigger entity. Sign them up and be their agent.
