Thanks for some more laughs! It's shocking that "supply side", tinkle down economic theory is still under public discussion. After thirty years of these policies, what we have seen is incredible "de-investment" with this country's economic manufacturing base largely moving oversees, the gap between rich and poor widening drastically, the middle class being squeezed, and a lack of investment in infrastructure. Time and again, cutting taxes on the rich does not lead to increased investment, economic growth or prosperity for everyone... Instead, services erode, costs are shifted to the middle class, and the money supply tightens. What really puzzles me is that most of the supporters of tinkle down (and the tea-baggers), are hurt (not helped) by these policies... they aren't the ones who benefit from low capitol gains taxes, repealed estate taxes, or the historically low top-tier income taxes.
The only thing I can say on
The only thing I can say on wether taxes work for or against jobs is this.
During 8 years of Clinton we had 23 Million new jobs
During the 8 of Bush we had 2.3 million new jobs.
The first man raised taxes and the second cut them.
Trickle down does not work I wish the GOP would stop doubling down on policies they SHOULD know are not working.
ANd when I say "Doubling Down" Its when the GOP is shown it has a losing hand tries to make it better by doing the same wrong thing rather than admit it was wrong. Like doubling down on a 22 in black jack and hoping to win somehow.

There's more than that... First, under Clinton we had a GOP house and senate that passed surplus spending and curtailed many of Clinton's polcies.
Clinton also borrowed money from the Chinese and sold them secrets to cover the deficit and also cooked the books. One way was a scheme used by Reagan... Screen out unemployed workers on weflare or looking for work for more than a year to make unemployment look low. Bush I and II did that too.
Bush's problem: Some of Clinton's policies came back on him. For one thing expanding the community Reinvestment act, passing laws that cripple small business and the self employed and in addition, Democrat states and cities passed outrageous fees and taxes that caused bankruptcies. Many of them moved to middle america.
That and we had Nancy Pelosi and a Democrat congress that hiked the minimum wage, passed environmentalist laws that destroyed manufatcuring and regulated the economy even more.
That... And there was a war, bush was a big spender on both military and social spending, he increased our government and he parlayed to illegal aliens. So thats the problem.

Once upon a time in the kingdom of the democrat tax hike fairies(maine) there lived a poor boy named Tommy Tax Hike(Real name Gregory Wilton) One day, Tommy was invited by the GOP King to the magical land of low taxes and small government prosperity (TEXAS) Where an opening in a paying job awaited him.
But The evil parents (liberals I might add) Forbade tommy to leave Maine because according to them he was mentally ill and stupid from being abused as a child and that it was better for him to live in No Job expensive Maine to participate in Programs for his own benefit! The Wizards of Acadia Mental Hospital declared him mentally incompitent because he was abused as a child and said he had Asperger's syndrome. they said he would never work at a job and be independent or get married (EVEN THOUGH HAD HAD BEEN THROUGH ALL THAT BEFORE HAVEING IT TAKEN FROM HIM AND HIS WIFE DIED)
Tommy was forced to stay in Maine and had his money taken away from him and later lost the current job he had. His Parents forced him into Magic SSI where he got only 450 a month and was forced to take magic pills (psychemeds) that hurt his head. The Magical Tax hike fairies and the socialist regulation pixies all had a plan to make tommy ALL better! They would sprinkle magic communism dust over Maine and that would make the ecnomy better! By raising taxes and increasing regulations and wasting money on more magic welfare programs.
As the few job producers and manufacturers left in the state saw the gift bestowed by the magical liberal fairies, they smiled, closed down their businesses and filed for bankruptcy. the rest moved to The GOP kingdoms of Middle America to start anew. Except for poor Tommy who was banned from leaving and working.
And Tommy never worked again. And the super rich and the liberals were SOOOOOO HAPPY!

And BTW this is a true story and proves that liberals are against jobs. I only thank God I was able to Escape to New Hampshire.

As for creating jobs, most of our jobs came from small businesses. They ae the back bone of our economy But Government red tape and high taxes have made it impossible for them to compete and all these hoops and barriers prevent new jobs from being created.
An important first step is to elminate government regulations against small business and red tape.
