"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."
"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."
"A government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have."
"To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical."
"It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world."
"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."
"To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical." -So, I'll be getting a refund off all my tax monies that supported an illegal and lie-based invasion of Iraq? No? Strange, it seems the conservatives only like to quote the Founding Fathers when it benefits them... but that would be hypocrisy, so that can't be right.
"It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world." -Wouldn't that have been a nice idea for Mr. Bush to have had before he took out all those Chinese loans to pay for an illegal war? As it stands, my children will be paying for those, until they pass it on to their children, and possibly another generation.
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not." -Exactly right, Mr. Jefferson! As such, no more subsidies to corporate entities; a company can't work, and does no labor itself. Stop the theft of monies from the working citizen to boost the companies' coffers for no good purpose. I have yet to meet a corporate executive, or even hear of one, who actually works for a living. Since they choose not to work, let them make their own way.
Love Jefferson on Banking Institutions, the rip off of BANKSTERS!"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."
Oh, I guess thinking of the same things you thought of when you voted for George W Bush and got snookered into nation building overseas adventurism and big spending beyond what any Democrat had ever done.
This is awesome :) good to see you tackling Obama like Bush. I voted for him and am glad to see people going after him for things and not letting them slide.
AF-Lack! The Prez has become "Obushma". Sounded like classic Bush. Roll the tape and tell me which is the real Bush: (take one) "We will not stay one day longer than necessary but we don't know what necessary is or what it will look like or when that day will ever come. It is up to us to say when terrorists are defeated enough. But we are not occupying these nations and we are their friends as we prop up corrupt warlords that sell drugs and traffic with terrorists under the table. Meanwhile, the American public just needs to be patient with things here at home: be patient with lack of jobs, with being screwed by banksters and medical corporations, with lacking health care and dying early. Just be patient at home while your own nation and neighborhoods continue to rot, decay and have daily massacres in malls, schools and recruitment centers.
This is change you can believe in. I accept my nobel peace prize and promise pocket change you can get in the future if you wait long enough. I didn't cause this mess but I know how to add to it and hide behind blaming the last guy for anything that goes wrong in the future, even though I've had plenty of time to do something by now. I believe in the power of my own words. Words trump reality because I say so. Trust me.
Hmm. You're going to need to come up with the Barack Obama equivalent of the Bush 'heh he!'
It would be a pause, a squint, another pause, and then, "What th.. Oh! Heh he!"
Of course Afghanistan will be crushed under heel... they're still holdouts on the glorious new supranational establishment.
Besides, those glorious new weapons of war won't kill people by themselves. Or... actually, most of them will, but the US government still needs some half-arsed pretext to use them.
Looks like Mr. Obama is taking a page from Mr. Bush's 'wondrous smarts'.
