My solar powered electric

My solar powered electric has passed up gas stations for 26 years!
My only regret: It takes oil to make tires and windshield wipers.
Love that HOV sticker!

Please, please...these

Please, please...these animations like this are so good I'd "kill" to be able to embed these into my Blog!!!

You're a great animator, and

You're a great animator, and it's all well-put. Doreen the Downer was unfortunately so right on target. Thank You!

Mark, Yet another spot-on

Mark,

Yet another spot-on video!

I was lucky enough to buy a 100-mile range electric car (Toyota RAV4 EV) six years ago, during the six-month window when they were sold in California. Too bad our government and car companies pulled the plug to instead pursue the unworkable pipe-dream of hydrogen transportation. That story is well told by the recent movie, "Who Killed the Electric Car". Anyhow, plug-in, battery-powered electric cars like the one I've been driving could work for many drivers while improving our energy balance, economy, and environment. Just add keep adding wind turbines and solar power to the grid.

Even the Bush admin seems to have flip-flopped on this (of course, talk is cheap)...
From the Detroit news, "We want our city people driving not on gasoline but on electricity. And thegoal, the short-term goal, is to have vehicles that are capable of driving the first 40 miles on electricity..."--President Bush, 3/5/08

Hard to believe that's from the same admin which said: "If you're one of those people who puts solar panels on your house or drives a battery powered car, you might as well vote for Gore" -- Dick Cheney, Oct 3, 2000

Oh yeah, of course I did put solar panels on my roof and take his advice for voting. Thanks, Dick!!

in canada the current price

in canada the current price is about $1.03/L but this is after 2 years of steady increases (was originally about 65c/L) and the word on the street is by this summer it will be $1.40?L.

alberta is thriving and BC and saskatachewan have both discovered deposits.

re: Canada's Current

re: Canada's Current Price.
Don't know where in Cda. you reside, but I live in Vancouver, B.C. and haven't seen $1.03 p/L in a very long time.
Granted there are many price fluctuations ... last spring $1.20+p/L, currently we're paying between $1.10 & $1.15p/L

"At any rate, I'm sure

"At any rate, I'm sure someday we'll look back at the oil price in this animation as quaint and dated!"

Sorry. I have to disagree with you. We may not be able to look back at it with the rolling blackouts that will be coming in the face of a lack, and high price, of oil. Look at south africa to see what rolling blackouts do to an economy.

NZ pays over $1.70/liter. That is about $7 folks. People pay it. Why, the infrustructure is such that you have little choice.

As pointed out, the price for oil did go up with the iraq war. But how much of the current oil price is linked to china's growing thirst for it?

I must say, iran's in the sweet spot for all of this. All they have to do is send a few gun boats withing eye shot of a US war boat, and oil price goes up.... just enough to pay off those new centrifuges.

I know, I'm amazed there

I know, I'm amazed there hasn't been more activity in the Straits of Hormuz.

Check out "President Petro,"

Check out "President Petro," which I just updated. After another jump, I had to change the oil price arrow from 103.95 to $105.97. If I was a smart programmer, there's probably a good way to update that automatically as the price changes.

At any rate, I'm sure someday we'll look back at the oil price in this animation as quaint and dated!

Yep. It doesn't matter who

Yep. It doesn't matter who the Pres is so long as Emperor Oil rules the world. Until someone dethrones that oily bastard we're all nothing more than his vassals. Sucks, don't it?
