Thank you for remembering those of us who served.
You also might wish to consider the incredibly long waiting times to settle Veterans'disability claims. I filed for disability due to pulmonary problems in 1970 at discharge after Vietnam service. The claim was finally settled in 2007! 37 years is a lifetime. The VA's Claims Administration is possibly the worse part of our or any other government on Earth.
"The Surge at Home" revealed very interesting facts. Since those that still support bush and his wars have complained about keeping the count of war dead and insist compared to other wars, it's not that high or bad. To make them happy, why don't we add the suicide count for a total. Even that these tormented soldiers did not die in Iraq, the fact of being there, going through the days of fighting, narrowly getting killed on occasion, the war was a direct cause of their death. With the count of suicides over Six thousand, it should bring the grand total of deaths at Ten thousand, give or take a few. The figure should make the War Hawks proud and give them something else to brag about.
While we are in the mood, let's consider the spouse's of the dead. If any should feel being without their partner is too much to bear and they take their life, we can add them to the count with an asterisk to show the difference.
Does anybody think that some time in the future these die hard bush supporters will ever come to their senses, realize they supported a person that lied us into a war, the fact that one soldier died that shouldn't have, was one too many?
