true one jimmy carter brought in leglisation which forced the banks to give morgages to people who really couldn't afford them (the poor)
What people REALLY need to learn from all this is that not everyone can OWN a home some people are really better off renting. The "american dream" is flawed in this respect.

Actually, it's not the American Dream that is flawed. It's the American Entitlement which demands that every dream must come true or else somebody must be punished.
banks are a business and greed and corruption have led them to fail. What have the banks done for us besides enslave us and loan us electronic money they materialise out of thin air using fractional reserve banking and book entries. The bankers at the bilderburg meetings must be laughing as the government gives them more and more money to loan more and more fake money while they spend it themselves on golden handshakes and huge parties, remember the 40,000 dollar party thrown after the bailout money pasted. I'm sure it was necessary, the bankers must have been feeling hard times. Have a nice day
Mark this cartoon is great. I just read where A.I.G. ask for other 30 billion of us taxpayer money, that after losing some 62 billion last Quater. When is it going to stop now long will the us taxpayer have to keep bailout these compaines
Brilliant Mark! With reference to the original song - it seems (I was) troubled by just one thing. As the song started I heard "And then suddenly, to my surprise, he did the... I so wanted it to say crash (AKA mash). Perhaps you could do another cartoon to satisfy?
An economist friend of mine thought the related cartoon "clap-on, clap-off" capitalism was right on the mark.
My personal favorite is Petrotheism (http://www.markfiore.com/petrotheism_0). The voice work in this one amazing, especially the voice of the storm, which changes from a female to a male voice. It gives me the willies!
One of the major problems the banks are facing is that they need to sort out (anywhere between) 350 and 645 trillion dollars of bad derivatives. A lot of the money is owed from one zombie bank to another, and so far they've been 'canceling out' an impressive ~7 trillion dollars a month.
However, as any sixth-grader will tell you, at 49 trillion a year, it will take the banks 7 to 15 years to sort out the good assets from bad. Meanwhile, the banks are still on the hook for the commissions paid on the derivatives (typically between 0.5-1%), which is just a svelte 3.5 trillion--only twice the size of their capital base.
Any money that gets dumped into the banks basically helps them to pay their employees and run their day-to-day operations. They'll only need a few (dozen) more injections to sort out the remaining derivatives.
They are zombies in every sense of the word. The living dead. Such a terrible stank.
They'll hold out as long as they can until the US government finally comes around and says: you're broke. Give us your assets. Open your books. We'll sort out what's good and what's not, and nationalize the good stuff.
That is, if the bankers don't manager to strip off the "good bank" parts first.
BTW Mark, someone posted an AWESOME video that's easy for everyone to understand.... It's called Crisis of Credit... explains this whole mess from begining till it's current Zombie situation...!
Your finest, Mark. You've risen to another level, and I didn't think it could get better than the killer stuff you've done already. Congrats on an impressive piece of work.
Bankers = Frankenstein's Monsters! Not a bad idea! Will there be a cartoon with a talking Obama? It seems that there has not been one where he actually speaks!
Excellent vocals and music! Do you think it will hit the Top 40 charts? Lots of truth in the satire, thanks for bringing out the truth in a way that always seems to massage the tickle bones! This one is a real looker....
Awesome parody song, Mark! Loved it. Great job! The original, "Monster Mash", is a favorite of mine. I also agree with you about the great voice acting and singing by John Taylor and Stephanie Riggio! Thanks to all you guys and gal for this.
