Drones come to Techopolis!

Between the driverless car, internet balloons and Amazon's delivery drones, it seemed like high time to take a closer look at the technology industry in a cartoon.  Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for the internet and technology-- it's how I've made my living for the past twelve years or so-- but I definitely have some luddite-induced skepticism in my bones.

Peace Turkeys

It's that time again, time for my annual turkey cartoon.  There are always plenty of turkeys to go around and this year, I chose to give turkeys to the people throwing fits about the recent nuclear accord with Iran.  Sure, it doesn't magically make Iran throw up their hands and destroy all their nuclear goings-on.  That'd be swell, but it's not going to happen.

A Message from the Health Insurers of America

After Obama announced his temporary fix to the Affordable Care Act, the health insurance companies were up in arms about how this would destabilize the market and cause people's premiums to rise.  Um, when was the last time the health insurance biz cared so much about raising premiums?  Methinks there are other motives at work.  This week's cartoon is a little reminder of health insurers' favorite refrain.

Right-WingLandia

Maybe it was just a clever marketing ploy by Nickelodeon, but there was a recent episode of SpongeBob SquarePants that got conservative news types all atwitter.  Turns out, SpongeBob was to get fired, be tempted by the wonders of unemployment and the social safety net, but in the end, realize that good old fashioned hard work was his salvation.

Li'l NSA Spy Kit

Every week, and sometimes every day, there is a new revelation about the shady practices of the NSA.  After the news broke that the spy agency targeted thirty-five heads of state, not to mention the head of the UN, General Keith Alexander and Obama were on the defensive again and the cartoon ideas were frolicking in my head.
