Paul Ryan’s Publicity Stunt

June 22, 2016

With Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, calling the #NoBillNoBreak sit-in a “publicity stunt,” let’s take a look at what Representative Ryan has been doing lately to get attention of his own.  I actually feel kind of sorry for the guy.  (Okay, not really.)

First the speaker can’t get heard because Donald Trump is stealing all of the political oxygen.  Then, on the very day that Ryan finally (finally!) releases his alternative health care “plan,” the Democratic sit-in on the House floor hits.  Now, what attention Paul Ryan is getting is not exactly the kind he wants.

After struggling lately to get heard, Speaker Ryan is now coming across as an anti-democratic whiner who shut down C-SPAN during one of the most crucial times in Congress, among other things.  (Should we call it the LaPierre Spring?)  Meanwhile, if you look a little closer at what Ryan has been proposing, you’ll see it is more of the same deregulation and bootstraps nonsense that is slightly repackaged each time he unveils his latest masterwork.  Enjoy the cartoon, and remember that you can dig in deeper to my work on my Patreon page!
