All signs are pointing to the release of a recording featuring President Trump saying the “n-word.” It might not exist and he may have never said it but I think it’s safe to mark this down in the “imminent release” column. Sarah Huckabee Sanders says she “can’t guarantee” her boss hasn’t used the n-word.
Bigger than Trump’s battle with spurned supporter Omarosa Manigault Newman and any n-word recording is the administration’s pattern of lying to the public and vilifying the press. On the front lines is Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who has the unenviable job of trying to make an irrational, racist White House look rational and inclusive.
It’s great that over 300 newspapers are joining the Boston Globe in condemning Trump’s attacks on the press— so great we should do it every day.
