Right-wing mayhem, party chaos and the high court’s Dobbs decision that hurt Republicans in Tuesday’s election is all personified in Speaker Mike Johnson.
Just how nutty is the new Republican Speaker of the House?
Probably nuttier than we all first thought.
If there is an extreme right-wing viewpoint, chances are it is espoused by Johnson, and then some. He is a culture warrior who tries to masquerade as a serious conservative legal mind.
Translation: he’s a crackpot.
Good thing there aren’t many important things going on right now that the Speaker of the House should be capable of handling.
If our nation was in the throes of opening a chain of Noah’s Ark amusement parks or founding a right-wing law school that specializes in ways women can have more babies, the House of Representatives is being led by just the right man.
(Although his track record even in cases like those is pretty weak.)
